We welcome all volunteers committed to making a difference.
Make a difference for yourself and others.
Some of our members have just moved to the area, while others are longtime residents. All volunteer because it gives them a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community in a meaningful way. We offer a variety of opportunities for involvement to fit the availability, interests, and skills of each member.
Our philanthropic programs reflect the needs of our communities as well as the passion of our members. As local needs and/or the priorities of our membership change, our programs adapt accordingly. The volunteer members of each Assistance League chapter are responsible for designing and administering all the philanthropic programs and raising all funds necessary to pay for its philanthropic programs. All funds raised stay in the community.
Membership in Assistance League, then, comes with a degree of responsibility. We rely on our members to volunteer their time to help carry out our programs, fundraising activities, and administrative tasks, and to provide leadership. Members also play a key role in generating revenue through direct financial support or through soliciting support from others in the community. Finally, we need our members to lead current activities and to guide the organization into the future.

“What made me sign up that day was the enthusiasm everyone showed; I was welcomed with such kindness, and it was clear that everyone in the room shared the same sense of purpose and aim to make a difference. Over the years I have enjoyed working with strong and amazing women on different programs within ALCW and have seen firsthand that we do make a difference to families in need of some support. I will keep these special memories always wherever I am in the world.”
“It's a good group of women who are actively involved in making life better for others. And, the time commitment is manageable. You can participate as much as you want within your own schedule.”
"I am so glad I became a part of Assistance League. It is such a pleasure to work with such smart, dedicated women, many of whom have become dear friends. I love knowing that I am helping people in my community and when I see the smiling face of a child who has just received a new coat in a color she loves, it just makes my day.” Member Meg Cooper
